" When my husband surprised me with an anniversary gift offer of a horse after 30 years, I had to move fast before he changed his mind!  I chose a 3-year-old Arabian mare out of a pasture in the western part of the county.  I'd never before been involved with starting a young horse.  In fact, it had been 16 years since I rode on a regular basis and over 30 years since I owned my last horse.  Jeff and Cindi agreed to take on the project of training Jada and retraining me.  Jada began by learning ground manners...to stand patiently, to tie, to pick up her feet, to accept blanketing.  Meanwhile, Cindi and several of the Oakleigh school horses started to work on my rusty riding. 

Fast forward a few months...the two of us have strengthened, learned and improved.  The intricacies and subtleties of cues are so much more important than I ever realized!  Jeff did such a good job of allowing Jada to progress at her own pace.  She was so responsive and willing as he coached me and answered my million excited questions.

It takes a great team to teach a slow-witted, middle -aged woman and a red-headed filly so the two of us can come together as partners.  Jeff and Cindi did it!"

"My daughter had a dream of owning a horse.  We purchased a horse we thought was a good match for her.  The first seven months we boarded and took lessons at a couple of different barns, but became very dissatisfied...both with the care we received an also with the way we were personaly treated.

After an intense search for a 'barn home', we found Oakleigh.  What we found was excellent conditions and a knowledgeable staff.  Cindi and Jeff evaluated our horse and implemented a plan.  Archie's condition immediately improved with regard to nutritional, veterinary and farrier care.  Jeff's training skills helped Archie's behavior improve and allowed Allison to overcome the issues that had been barriers to her riding progress.  They both further blossomed in Cindi's lesson program.
